China Focus: Global brands tap Chinese market via consumer products expo Xinhua 07 May 2021, 19:44 GMT+10 HAIKOU, May 7 (Xinhua) As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to rage and the world economy drags on, the first China International Consumer Products Expo (CICPE) marks a major step by China to further open its market and bolster the global economy. The four-day event opened on Thursday in the southern island province of Hainan. It is the first-ever expo focusing on quality consumer goods held by China at the national level. Japanese cosmetics company Shiseido was the first cosmetics company to sign up for the expo. It also participated in the China International Import Expo (CIIE) held in Shanghai in 2019 and 2020, attracted by the world s most promising consumer market. ....

Shiseido to bring ‘innovation and skin beauty’ to China Products Expo The company will debut two new brands in the Chinese market at the event Shiseido will launch two new prestige skincare brands into the Chinese market at the upcoming first China International Consumer Products Expo. The event, which begins on 7 May, will take place at the Hainan International Convention & Exhibition Center, Haikou. Shiseido was the first beauty company to confirm its attendance at the event and will debut two new products for visitors at the Expo. Sustainable skincare brand Baum and minimalist luxury brand The Ginza will take centre stage in Shiseido’s 500sqm booth, with a separate display area dedicated to each one. ....

It will be the first international expo in the tropical province since China released a master plan last June to build the whole of Hainan Island into a globally influential, high-level free trade port by the middle of the century. According to the provincial bureau of international economic development, many overseas companies have already secured their spots in the 80,000-square-meter exhibition venue.
