DAILY EXPRESS (DE): How do you really feel about your design making it to the cover of Time magazine?
Red Hong Yi: Surreal. It’s a dream project. I’ve always admired Time’s covers, and there have been a few artists I hugely respect (JR and Sheperd Fairey) who have collaborated with them. It’s been such an honour and feels like one of the highlights of my career so far. I am also especially proud to have created it with a full team of Malaysians – all 14 of us! The 39-year-old Sabahan recently bagged a collaboration with an independent Singaporean watchmaker. The limited-edition Venture watch from Boldr, sports Chai s famous grafitti character: Chaigo the dog.
Chai s artwork of Chaigo is displayed proudly on the dial. He also has a hand in designing the interchangeable strap. This is in addition to a collector’s Chaigo action figure, plus a set of very special (and colourful, naturally) stickers.

French restaurant bouchon Enfin has appointed Beatnk and REBL as its communications partners ahead of its launch to oversee strategic and creative communications, influencer management, as well as digital and social media. Bouchon Enfin is founded by chef James Won and business partner Scott Lim, and is inspired by the concept of restaurants in France s Lyon, which are known for their convivial atmosphere and family-style dining. The restaurant intends to serve up French dishes with a Malaysian spin.
Beatnk will take the lead in strategic communications and creative directions supported by independent design house Roshambo and PR practitioner Jillian Toyad, while REBL Malaysia will handle all social content and strategic components and for influencer marketing. REBL is supported by influencer marketing firm Komaci in this aspect.
