Senate Queries FRCN over N187m Unrecovered Advert Debts

The Senate Public Accounts Committee has sustained the query of Office Auditor General of Federation (AuGF) over the failure of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigerian (FRCN) to recover over N180 million advert debts.
Chairman of the Committee, Senator Mathew Urhoghide, sustained the query following the inability of the corporation’s Director-General, Mr. Mansur Liman, to explain what happened to the outstanding advertising debts to the committee.
The query reads: ” Financial records maintained at Ibadan zonal office (FRCN Ibadan) revealed huge unrecovered advert debts of N120,099,666.88 (One hundred and twenty million, ninety-nine thousand, six hundred and sixty-six naira, eighty-eight kobo) owed to the corporation as of December 2016, as a result of services rendered on credit to some companies by the zonal office, contrary to the provisions of Financial Regulations 224 and 230 (2009) which stipulates that all services rendered by governme ....

Buhari has no relationship with Kumo, says presidency


• PDP Wants Suspects Tracked Down
The Presidency, yesterday, declared that President Muhammadu Buhari has no relationship with Gimba Yau Kumo, who has been declared wanted by the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC) in connection with a $65 million fraud at the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN).
The anti-graft agency, in a list of wanted persons posted on its website, declared Kumo wanted alongside Tarry Rufus and Bola Ogunsola over the alleged fraud.
In reaction, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned the alleged $65 million (about N31 billion) fraud in the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN), in which Kumo is allegedly involved. ....
