Lori Kumler to fill open Alliance School Board post Special to The Alliance Review ALLIANCE – Lori Kumler was selected Monday to fill an open seat on the Alliance City Schools Board of Education. The unanimous decision by the four board members was made during a special meeting, according to a news release from the district. Kumler will fill John “Buddy” Gasparik post on the board. Gasparik resigned April 16. “I am really looking forward to working with this board,” Kumler said in the release. “It’s clear to me that they’re incredibly committed, and I can’t wait to work with them as well as the administration and all the amazing staff, teachers and students that we have.” ....
ALLIANCE – Thirty-eight students at Alliance Intermediate School are in quarantine after a teacher and two students tested positive for COVID-19. The school district was notified about the positive tests on Monday and placed the students under quarantine out of an abundance of caution, according to a statement from Alliance City School District Superintendent Rob Gress. On Wednesday, the district learned that a third student had tested positive, bringing the total to three students and one teacher. According to the statement, an after-school club at Alliance Intermediate School was also quarantined due to close contact with one of the students. Most of the students will be able to return to school May 14, provided they do not exhibit COVID symptoms 24 hours prior to their return. ....
