The following defendants waived their right to a preliminary hearing in central court on Wednesday. Amanda J. Messersmith, 31, of Greeneville, Tennessee, on April 12 was charged with delivery of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance. The state Office of the Attorney General said Messersmith allegedly sold methamphetamine to a confidential informant multiple times. The first controlled buy occurred at the Breezewood Motel on Feb. 24, documents said. Messersmith allegedly sold meth to the informant for $100. Another buy occurred at the hotel on March 4, that time for an $80 purchase. On March 18, the informant purchased $80 worth of meth from Messersmith at the Wiltshire, 140 S. Breezewood Road. eriously injured in a crash earlier this month. State police said a car driven by David E. Clippinger, 20, crashed along Black Valley Road in West Providence Township about 9:30 p.m. April 7. Police said Clippinger lost control of the vehicle along a left curve and crashed into a ditch, becoming airborne. Clippinger was flown by medical helicopter to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. The following defendants had charges bound to the Court of Common Pleas on Wednesday: William S. Fortune, 33, of Everett, on Dec. 1 was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Tpr. William Green testified Fortune was found in possession of prescription pill bottles containing suspected drug residue, methadone and marijuana seeds during an incident Jan. 2, 2020, at his former home in Londonderry Township. Green said Fortune had been evicted from the residence the morning of Jan. 2, 2020, after a court order was filed against him by the property owner, Shannon Hyatt. Troopers were dispatched to the home about 6:30 p.m. that evening after Hyatt reported she found drug paraphernalia in Fortuneâs bedroom. Green said Fortuneâs ID card was found in the room along with various prescription pill bottles with his name on the label.
