Few people can equal the depth of experience, and knowledge of the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS) as Fatumanava-o-Upolu III Dr Pa olelei Luteru. A former Assistant Secretary-General of the Political Affairs and Human Development Department (2000-2005) of the then, African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Group of States, Luteru returned to the OACPS in April 2012 as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Independent State of Samoa in Brussels. Secretary-General Ambassador Irwin LaRocque on Wednesday received Guyana’s new Ambassador to CARICOM H.E. George Talbot, in a ceremony which also highlighted the country’s lead role in the Caribbean Community’s food production and food security.
Guyana holds lead responsibility for Agriculture, Agricultural Diversification and Food Security in the CARICOM Quasi-Cabinet, and President
Irfaan Ali earlier this year presented to his colleague Heads of Government, a
Food Production and Food Security Agenda which outlines in detail the strategy and action plan for transforming the agriculture sector in CARICOM.
“The Secretariat looks forward to working closely with you and your colleagues on this most important initiative,” Secretary-General LaRocque told the new Ambassador in the virtual accreditation ceremony. ....

Angela Cole Westhoff chosen to lead Maine Health Care Association
The board of directors of the Maine Health Care Association has selected
Angela Cole Westhoff of Sidney to be the association’s next president and chief executive. She will succeed Rick Erb, who is retiring after 20 years with MHCA. Westhoff has most recently served as executive director of the Maine Dental Association and had held a similar position with the Maine Osteopathic Association. Wanda Pelkey, chair of the MHCA board of directors, cited Westhoff’s knowledge and skills as a terrific complement to an experienced and dedicated MHCA team.

Georgetown – Secretary-General Ambassador Irwin LaRocque on Wednesday received George Talbot, Guyana’s new Ambassador to the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), in a ceremony which also highlighted the country’s lead role in the region’s food production and food security.
Guyana holds lead responsibility for Agriculture, Agricultural Diversification and Food Security in the CARICOM Quasi-Cabinet, and President Irfaan Ali earlier this year presented to his colleague Heads of Government, a Food Production and Food Security Agenda which outlines in detail the strategy and action plan for transforming the agriculture sector in CARICOM.
