I long for a Cameroon where anglophone children no longer mimic the sound of gunfire, and Mondays are no longer “stay-at-home” days decreed by armed men. 
I want to go back to a time – not so long ago – when education was a religion in every household, and schools were places children were eager to attend, promising a brighter future.
These days, we have school massacres, boycotts, kidnappings. 
We have teachers and students stripped naked, terrified, jeered at by gunmen, and those images posted to social media.
We have stay-at-home days – ordered by separatist fighters to demonstrate anglophone solidarity – that merely impoverish us all. ....

NORTH-WEST AND SOUTH-WEST REGIONS SITUATION REPORT
333,864 people in the North-West and South-West regions benefited from food assistance, agriculture and livelihood-based activities during November.
798 Gender Based Violence (GBV) incidents were reported in the two regions.
Trauma surgeons and psychologists deployed by WHO in the two regions performed 69 surgical procedures during November.
16,448 infants benefited from routine vaccines they had previously missed.
Situation Overview
The humanitarian situation in the North-West and South-West (NWSW) regions remained dire during the month of November, marked by continued violent attacks on schools and children and overall insecurity linked to the approaching first ever regional elections announced for 6 December. Incidents reported within the month include killing, torture, abduction of students and teachers, as well as arson against education facilities. ....

03 November 2020: In Kumbo city, Bui department, Northwest region, unidentified armed men raided the Presbyterian Primary School and the day section of the Presbyterian Secondary School, before reportedly abducting six children and 11 teachers. 16 November 2020: Near Bangmiougou village, Barsalogho department, Sanmatenga province, a group of 10 women were raped by gunmen whilst collecting straw in the bush near the village. The governor of the Centre-Nord region denied that the event had occurred in a later statement. Source: ACLED
