KARACHI: An antiterrorism court on Monday sentenced the prayer leader of a mosque located on Superhighway to over 25 years in prison for raising funds for the outlawed Jamaatud Dawa (JuD).
The court also ordered the provincial education department to take over and forfeit the mosque/seminary in Malir used by JuD for generating money to fund terrorist activities across the country.
On Monday, the ATC-XII judge, who conducted the trial in the judicial complex inside the central prison, pronounced the verdict against prayer leader Ghulam Rasool Rabbani and imposed a fine of Rs2.2 million on him. ....

New Delhi: An anti-terrorism court in Karachi sentenced a prayer leader of a mosque, Ghulam Rasool Rabbani, to over 25 years in prison for raising funds for banned outfit Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) Tuesday, according to local media reports.
This comes just days after JuD chief and Mumbai terror attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed was sentenced to 15 and a half years in jail in a terror financing case. ....

Pakistan Sentences Two On Terror-Financing Charges

A Pakistani court has sentenced two alleged members of banned organizations to long prison terms on terrorism-financing charges.
The anti-terrorism court in the port city of Karachi published its verdicts in the two separate cases on December 29.
Ghulam Rasool Rabbani, an alleged member of Jamaat-ud Dawa (JuD), was sentenced to 25 years in prison and a fine of 2.2 million rupees ($13,700), while Muhammad Shakirullah, said to belong to Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS), was handed a 20-year prison term in absentia and a 1.1 million rupee ($6,800) fine.
Rabbani, who owns the Jamia Masjid Babul Haramain Sharifain Trust mosque and its madrasah in Karachi, was arrested on November 15. ....
