Now those who have used the Emergency Department, Same Day Emergency Care, Paediatrics ED, Acute Medical Unit, Short Stay Unit or Surgical Assessment Unit in the last 12 months are being asked to share their views in the form of a survey. The hospital hopes to use the information they give to help create a more streamlined and efficient service. University Hospitals has revealed details of a $236 million Phase 2 expansion for its Ahuja Medical Center that will open in 2023 and create an estimated 1,000 jobs. A 216,000-square-foot hospital tower addition and a 78,000-square-foot sports medicine complex will expand the medical center in Beachwood by more than 68%, UH said in a news release on Tuesday, March 16. A UH spokeswoman said in an email that Ahuja has 1,087 employees at present, so the expansion will roughly double the medical center s headcount. (The current Ahuja headcount rises to about 1,300 when including all employees and physicians that have multiple work locations within UH, the spokeswoman said.) ....

OhioHealth announced Feb. 12 expansion plans for its Pickerington Medical Campus at 1010 Refugee Road later this year. According to OhioHealth, the expansion will be built on more than 30 acres at its OhioHealth Pickerington Medical Campus, which opened in June 2015. Pickerington Mayor Lee Gray said the news is great for residents, who will have increased local access to health-care services and hospital beds. Additionally, he said, the project itself will yield significant economic development to the city and is expected to jump start other projects in the area. ....
