Last week, the Palo Alto County Board of Health met in regular session and discussed the mask mandate for our county. It was voted on and approved to continue to mandate mask wearing throughout the county until the next Board meeting in June. By continuing the mask mandate, we are able to provide protection and ensure that our children are able to finish their school year, attend graduation ceremonies and celebrate their achievements.
At this time, our positivity rate remains low at 5% with four newly reported cases in the last seven days. I say reported cases, because there are many family members who are ill and not getting tested because they know they have had an exposure. Our total cases to date is 1,183 and we have lost 21 county residents to COVID. ....

More than 25,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine hare headed to Central Texas providers this week as part of more than 2.5 million doses allocated statewide. More than 76,000 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Central Texas since the start of the pandemic a year ago and the virus has claimed nearly 1,600 lives in the region. (File)
(KWTX) – The total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Central Texas rose by 108 Monday to 76,045 and the death toll increased by at least two.
COVID-19 has claimed as many as 1,624 lives in Central Texas, but according to Department of State Health Services data Monday the regional death toll was 1,599 including 396 Bell County residents, 14 fewer than the local count of 410; 33 Bosque County residents; 84 Coryell County residents; 31 Falls County residents; 48 Freestone County residents; 26 ....
