I am writing this raw and wiping my tears after yet another chat with my young kids to explain that: “Daddy didn’t mean to get so mad. Daddy still loves ye and loves me. He just sometimes can’t take being busy and gets angry. Daddy didn’t mean to shout and say those horrible things to us.”
You see, their daddy – my husband – suffers from depression and unfortunately when he feels under pressure his anxiety comes out as anger and we, as his family living with him, have to bear the brunt of it.
He does see a doctor and is taking medication and openly discusses his depression and anger with me and his doctor so that is why these ‘episodes’ are not constant. ....

Laois triathlon club is asking the nation to show ‘We Care’ this June and raise money for carers nationwide.
Trilogy Triathlon Club plan to host a virtual 100km in June fundraiser, in conjunction with Pop Up Races and Eventmaster.
The ‘We Care’ campaign’s premise is simple; run, walk, jog or cycle 100km in the month of June. ....

Amendments in relation to the Assisted Decision-Making (Capacity) Act 2015 are to go to Cabinet in May and to be enacted by September this year, the inaugural Decision Support Service conference heard this morning.
The Act and the Decision Support Service (DSS) set up under the legislation are due to be fully operational by June 2022. The Act is to provide a multi-tiered decision framework for those lacking decision-making capacity, limited to timed and specific issues, whether due to disability, acquired brain injury, or age-related conditions such as dementia, some 1,500 people heard at the first online event hosted by the DSS. ....
