Bilal Ahmad Khan, a post-graduate from Sheikhpora (Anantnag) started a fish farm in his native village in 2007 with assistance from the Fisheries Department under Prime Minister’s package employing 10 people. Encouraged by initial gains, he diversified the activities and built a small pond and children amusement park by its side. He purchased pedal boats and other pieces of equipment from Kolkata and started providing boating and recreation services, the first of its kind in that area. The government assistance helped him rear carp fish (common carp, grass carp and silver carp). Cloudbursts in Kargil at two villages, mini hydro power project damaged

JAMMU, July 27: Two cloudbursts occurred in Kargil district in the Union Territory of Ladakh today damaging a hydro power project and some houses but there were no casualties or injuries.
First cloudburst took place at village Khangral, about 60 kilometers from Kargil on Kargil-Leh National Highway while the second occurred at Sangra, about 40 kilometers from Kargil in Sanku division on Zanskar road.
Kargil-Zanskar road was closed due to the cloudburst, Khan said.

He directed CMO to launch a mass awareness campaign to create awareness among people for cent percent coverage under the scheme. He also directed for mobilizing field level workers including VLEs ASHA workers, VLWs etc to create mass awareness about the scheme.
Furthermore VLEs were directed to station themselves at the ration depots on the fixed days of week to ensure that the left out beneficiaries are sensitised and enrolled in an effective manner.
He also directed CSCs to set a per day target for each centre to ensure speedy registration and stressed to complete the process within one month.
