The 2021 finalists have been announced for the prestigious Milward Simpson Award. This honor is given to the most outstanding male and female student-athletes in the state. It is considered the most prestigious award a prep athlete can earn in their high school career. This year’s honor will be presented at a luncheon on June 19, 2021, in Cody, at the Cody Auditorium Club Room. Statewide percent positivity for the seven days ending May 20th stood at 4.5-percent. New Jersey s coronavirus hospitalization rate has dropped below 700 for the first time in seven months. It comes as the state reported 260 new infections Monday and confirmed 10 new COVID-related deaths. Residents in the Poconos who are at least 18-years-old are being encouraged to receive a dose of the Moderna vaccine during a series of clinics what will be held at the Northampton Community College s Monroe Count Campus. She has gathered these awards, along with a number of others, since the start of her freshman year at Hopkins High School in Minnetonka, Minnesota. During her time at Hopkins, she quickly rose to stardom and into national headlines. She was a phenom earlier than most. NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) â Vanderbilt has hired Shea Ralph away from UConn to help revive the Commodores’ struggling women’s basketball program, which hasn’t reached the NCAA Tournament since 2014. Athletic director Candice Lee announced the hiring Tuesday, a week after firing Stephanie White following five seasons. Ralph will be introduced at a news conference Wednesday. âCoach Ralph has earned the opportunity to take the reins of our womenâs basketball program and transform it into what we all know is possible,â Lee said. âShe knows what winning looks like, and she has the background and experience, as both a player and a coach, to develop our student-athletes into champions.â ....
