Attorney General sues 3 more Minnesota bars for serving indoors, violating order By FOX 9 Staff (FOX 9) - Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison s office filed lawsuits Monday against three bars/restaurants for violating the ban on indoor dining amid the pandemic. Less than a week ago, Ellison s office sued two other bars for similar violations. According to a release from Ellison s office, St. Patrick’s Tavern in New Prague, Pour House in Clarks Grove, and The Interchange in Albert Lea put community at risk by operating on-premises indoor dining in open violation of Governor Tim Walz’s Executive Order 20-99, a targeted dial-back of certain activities to halt the spread of COVID-19. The order states that bars and restaurants must close for on-premises indoor dining until January 10, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. ....

Dec 21, 2020 MINNEAPOLIS (AP) Minnesota regulators on Saturday told three more establishments to close indoor in-person dining or face 60-day suspensions of their liquor licenses. The Interchange in Albert Lea, Cornerstone in Monticello and The Pour House in Clarks Grove have joined a growing list of eateries that have ignored Gov. Tim Walz’s executive order aimed and slowing the spread of the coronavirus. Others facing similar suspensions are Boardwalk Bar and Grill in East Grand Forks, Alibi Drinkery in Lakeville, Mission Tavern in Merrifield and Neighbors on the Rum in Princeton. All of the businesses cited for violating the order will have hearings before an administrative law judge. They could be looking at five-year liquor license suspensions for a second violation of the closure order. ....

Three businesses located in Monticello, Albert Lea, and Clarks Grove were notified by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety Alcohol and Gambling Enforcement Division (DPS-AGED) that they face a 60-day suspension of their liquor licenses for ongoing violations of Executive Order 20-99 (EO-99) by selling alcohol for on-premises consumption. DPS-AGED says they found Cornerstone Cafe in Monticello was open for business on Dec. 16. The Minnesota Attorney General’s Office sent a letter warning Cornerstone Cafe of the consequences of continuing to violate EO-99. DPS-AGED received information that Cornerstone again opened for business on Dec. 17.
