Carla Williams and Brenda Tynan saw a need they had been observing due to the impacts of increased isolation for seniors during the pandemic.
The pair contacted the school district office and, from there, local schools were told how they could help meet the need.
Dallas elementary students from kindergarten to Grade 7 penned 200 of the 1,300 greeting cards written by students, which are being delivered to seniors’ homes in Kamloops, Clearwater, Barriere and Merritt before Christmas Day.
“We have wanted to acknowledge with our students that the pandemic has been difficult for them and, really, everyone has had a tough time, but some are suffering more than others,” said Dallas elementary principal Claire Sullivan. ....
