Kris Hari runner-up, Phillip Lemonious fourth in Trials finals

Shawn Price June 28, 2021 A pair of Razorbacks placing in the Olympic Trials finals of their respective countries on Sunday included Kristoffer Hari of Denmark and Phillip Lemonious of Jamaica. Hari placed second in the 100m at the Danish Championships with a career best time of 10.22 (0.9 wind). Hari’s previous best of 10.26 was set in 2019 when he also registered a wind-aided 10.08. Denmark’s 4×100 relay has qualified for the Olympic Games. Lemonious finished in fourth place in the 110m hurdles with a time of 13.22 (0.6 wind) at the Jamaican Trials after establishing a career best of 13.21 during the semifinal the previous evening. Dealing with cramps in his calves, Arkansas alum Omar McLeod hit the first pair of hurdles and finished in 16.22 seconds.

Shawn Price May 1, 2021 BATON ROUGE, La. – Four victories, three runner-up marks and a trio of third-place finishes highlighted No. 12 Arkansas’ performance at the LSU Invitational held Saturday inside Bernie Moore Stadium. The 110m hurdles featured a match-up of LSU versus Arkansas with 0.003 of a second separating the top two finishers while 0.09 of a second separated first through fifth place. LSU’s Eric Edwards had the edge at the finish line over Razorback Tre’Bien Gilbert, with both producing a time of 13.61 (-0.3 wind). The difference to decide the winner was 13.605 to 13.608. Phillip Lemonious, making his Razorback outdoor debut in the 110m hurdles, finished third in 13.62 ahead of a 13.68 for LSU’s Damion Thomas while another Arkansas hurdler, Carl Elliott, III, ran 13.70 in fifth.

No 12 Arkansas among five top 25 schools at LSU Invitational

Shawn Price April 29, 2021 BATON ROUGE, La. – As the outdoor season progresses towards the conference meet, the No. 12 Razorbacks compete in the LSU Invitational on Saturday, May 1, inside Bernie Moore Stadium. The host Tigers are currently No. 1 in the national ratings index produced by USTFCCCA. “We’re making good progress in our sprint area and had a few breakthroughs last week,” said Arkansas men’s head coach Chris Bucknam. “We are still looking to improve and will see how things go with Philip Lemonious in the 110m hurdles and Jeremy Farr in the 400m with their forward progress. “We need to sharpen up our relays and get better overall as we work towards the first championship that is coming up with the conference meet in two weeks.”
