Gilbert Boit advances to Eugene as runner-up in 10,000m

Shawn Price May 26, 2021 COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Gilbert Boit advanced to Eugene in the 10,000m with a runner-up finish in the distance race on the first evening of the NCAA West Preliminary round held at E.B. Cushing Stadium. Boit becomes the third Razorback to earn a trip to Oregon for the NCAA Championships. Boit used a final lap split of 59.76 seconds to move into second place as he posted a time of 29:10.36. No 8 Razorbacks ready to advance through NCAA West Preliminary

Shawn Price May 25, 2021 COLLEGE STATION, Texas – No. 8 Arkansas makes a return visit to Texas A&M for the NCAA West Preliminary rounds this week as the first two rounds of the NCAA Championships is held at E.B. Cushing Stadium on Wednesday and Friday with the top 12 finishers in each event advancing to Eugene. “We have 27 entries this weekend along with two in the decathlon in Eugene, so we have 29 scoring opportunities while competing in 15 of the 21 events,” said Arkansas men’s head coach Chris Bucknam. “We also have both of our relays in. So, it feels good to go down as a team. It feels like the conference meet to us. That’s an advantage and a good situation for us to have a team atmosphere.”

Shawn Price May 13, 2021 COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Arkansas scored 22 points in the 10,000m final to close out the first day of the SEC Championships held at E.B. Cushing Stadium on the Texas A&M campus. Those points have the Razorbacks in the team lead over Alabama and LSU, who each scored 20 points on Thursday. Gilbert Boit repeated as a silver medalist in the 10,000m as he ran 29:10.98 to finish behind the 28:55.56 by Alabama’s Vincent Kiprop. Razorback Luke Meade secured the bronze medal with a career best time of 29:22.40 while Matt Young, who closed with a last lap of 59.36, repeated his fourth-place finish from 2019 with a 29:31.97.
