Motorcyclist killed in crash involving SUV Share Updated: 10:56 AM CST Dec 31, 2020 Share Updated: 10:56 AM CST Dec 31, 2020 A motorcyclist was killed when the bike and an SUV collided, authorities said.A Pearl police officer reported seeing a motorcycle before midnight Wednesday traveling westbound on Highway 80, near Highway 49 going more than 100 mph, city officials said.As the motorcycle sped out of sight, the officer tried to get the tag number, authorities said. As the officer approached the intersection of Highway 80 and Gallatin Street in Jackson, he saw the motorcycle strike a GMC Yukon, according to Greg Flynn, spokesman for the city of Pearl.Jackson police are investigating the crash, Flynn said. ....

The San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra recently welcomed seven new members to its board of directors as part of a strategic board expansion initiative. The symphony was founded in 1929, but did not formally establish a board until 1963 when founding president of California State University San Bernardino John M. Pfau was the first to be elected to that office. Currently, the position is held by Dean McVay, a partner with Lewis Brisbois, Bisgaard & Smith LLP. The symphony added five new seats to the create a 30-member board. Two of the new members will fill seats vacated by retiring members. The seven new members join a whoâs who of the regionâs leadership, both currently and historically. Previous board members have included civil attorney and San Bernardino Community College Districtâs longest-serving elected trustee Allen Gresham; former publisher of the San Bernardino Sun and founder of Century Group Media Gerald Bean; philanthropist/real estate develo ....
