Away from the bustle of the main tourist beach, the cafe is on a smaller, calmer Barricane beach, and in the evening it serves Sri Lankan curry â which is hard to come by in Devon. Thereâs something therapeutic about eating Sri Lankan cuisine, listening to the sound of the waves, seeing the sun go down and watching the impressive swimmers. Curry evenings are determined by the weather and announced on Instagram: @barricanecafe. Bring towels or folding chairs to sit on. Cafe 10am-5pm, curries 5pm-7pm, although curries can sell out. ....

After 14 years here, following the first two years at Gear Farm near St Martin, Inlight Beauty, owned and run by the Spiezia family, has now opened the doors to its new Helston base on the Water-ma-Trout industrial estate. ....
A farmer on the Lizard Peninsula has been hailed as saving Christmas after he and his family stepped in to cook lunch for dozens of people on their own on Christmas Day. For the last five or six years a community lunch has been held at Mawgan Recreation Hall for elderly people in the area and those on their own at Christmas Day, but this year it could not take place due to coronavirus restrictions preventing gatherings. However, after hearing that many would be missing out this year, David Webb of Gear Farm offered to cook the whole lunch with his family in their catering approved kitchen. ....
