[email protected] GIBBON The Gibbon Fairfax Winthrop (GFW) School Board meets at 6:30 p.m., Monday, Feb. 8 in the Gibbon Elementary gym for a regular board meeting and closed session. Agenda items include a closed session for preliminary consideration of allegations against an employee. In her report, GFW Junior and Senior High Principal Brittany Galetka said she is excited to begin the new semester. “It feels similar to the first day of school. In fact, we have had several families join our school and/or return from distance learning,” reported Galetka. She said the National Honor Society finished up their food drive and the 8th-grade class will receive a prize in celebration of donating the most amount of food. ....

Other agenda items including superintendent and principal reports. “Junior high students are working hard all over our building,” reported GFW Junior/Senior High Principal Brittany Galetka. “They are ready and excited to move back into the classroom and original learning pods. Senior high students are working hard online. Their teachers are excited for students to return (to school) next week and to get them ready for the end of the semester.” Galetka reported GFW staff is “unmatched with their dedication to their students and our schools. To say they have gone above and beyond is an understatement.” ....
