Sky News host Rowan Dean says awarding Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews the prestigious 2020 McKinnon Prize would be the perfect way to “completely discredit the award”.
The Victorian premier was the sole Australian premier nominated for the 2020 McKinnon Prize, despite presiding over the worst coronavirus outbreak in the nation which resulted in 750 deaths.

Sky News host Peta Credlin said the nomination was almost like the “fire brigade giving the arsonist a bit of a medal” ....

"Really it is just an insult to the memories of those people who died needlessly through this guy's absolute incompetence," Ms Panahi said.
Ms Panahi said "surely New South Wales Premier Gladys Berejiklian should have been nominated, yet she's not on the short list".
"Surely her leadership in 2020 in keeping New South Wales safe whilst reopening the economy, taking the bulk of overseas arrivals, doing all the heavy lifting for the country - surely she'd be nominated". ....
