William Carl Moore’s last days weren’t easy. Only a few days after his stepdaughters rescued him from a bad living situation, the 70-year-old suffered a seizure and was sent to the hospital. After spending a few weeks in a senior rehabilitation center, he fell sick with COVID-19 less than a day after being released home. Moore ended up dying a week later, joining more than 80 Kitsap residents who have died from the virus over the past year. At Esquire Hills, 36 pre-k, kindergarteners, and first-grade students arrived by bus, car, or on foot to their school on Monday morning. Staffing crisis at Bremerton nursing home hit by COVID-19 outbreak Austen Macalus, Kitsap Sun BREMERTON A coronavirus outbreak at Forest Ridge Health and Rehabilitation has infected scores of residents and prompted a staffing crisis at the Bremerton nursing home. Kitsap Public Health officials say they are working with the state Department of Social and Health Services, Department of Health, and the Department of Labor and Industries to respond to the outbreak, which was declared on Dec. 17. At least 78 people have been infected at the facility, according to Kitsap Public Health. However, it’s unclear how many confirmed cases have been linked to staff versus residents.
