Premium Content Subscriber only A Gemfields man has been told to wake up to himself after fronting Emerald Magistrates Court on drug charges on Tuesday. Keith Arthur Millard, 56, pleaded guilty to possessing utensils or pipes that had been used and possessing dangerous drugs. Police prosecutor Sergeant Paul Cramp said police attended a Sapphire address on April 21 with a search warrant. Millard and two others were located inside. When asked if there were any items to declare, Millard produced a red plastic tub with a brass pipe, cigarette lighter, smoking papers and two clip seal bags containing 75g of cannabis. Police also located a third clip seal bag in an outdoor sink containing a further 45g of cannabis. ....

Mathew Vincent Buswell, 51, pleaded guilty in Moranbah Magistrates Court on April 15 to driving over the general alcohol limit but not over the middle limit. The father of three young children was driving home from Mackay about 11.40am on February 21 when he was intercepted by police on Peak Downs Highway for a roadside breath test. Police prosecutor Sergeant Paul Cramp said Buswell returned a blood-alcohol content reading of .057. Buswell said he had been drinking at the Mackay races the day prior and stopped drinking about 4am the morning of the offence. ....
Premium Content Subscriber only A Central Queensland mother-of-four broke down in tears as she faced court for the first time over a drink driving offence. Krystal Ann Wilson, 37, who represented herself, pleaded guilty at Clermont Magistrates Court on March 10 to driving under the influence of liquor. Police prosecutor Sergeant Paul Cramp said Wilson, who had no traffic history, was stopped for a roadside breath test on Tropic Street, Clermont, at 6pm on February 14. He said she returned a positive result and later recorded a Blood-Alcohol Content reading of .168, more than three times the legal limit. The Clermont mother, who was accompanied by her husband, told the court she was extremely remorseful and had been walking to work since the offence occurred, and getting lifts where she could. ....
A Blackwater teenager was charged after being part of an organised fight in the Central Queensland mining town. Blackwater police responded to reports of an organised fight at Sagittarius Rd about 2.20pm on January 15, police prosecutor Sergeant Paul Cramp told Blackwater Magistrates Court on Friday. On arrival, officers located five vehicles and saw about 20 people in a circle around two people fighting each other. Police recognised Triston Brandon Lee Major, who was involved in the fight, and when spoken to he said he arranged the fight to solve another dispute, the court heard. Major, 19, pleaded guilty at Blackwater Magistrates Court on February 5 to committing public nuisance. ....

Andrea Lee Johnson, 36, faced Emerald Magistrates Court on February 2 for ignoring police directions and causing a scene in the early hours of October 11, 2020. Police prosecutor Sergeant Kevin Ongheen said officers were called to reports of a disturbance at the Emerald Hotel on Clermont St just after midnight. Johnson was issued a move on direction to leave the vicinity after being in company of a man who assaulted security at the Irish Village, the court heard. A short time later, police officers saw Johnson trying to gain entry to the Emerald Star Hotel and she was again told to leave before walking off. ....
