Doch so einfach verläuft Geschichte nicht – auch nicht im Fall der Badischen Zeitung, die vor 75 Jahren erstmals erschienen ist. Sie war zwar eine Neugründung – aber auf der Basis des Vorangegangenen.
Das beleuchtet diese Szene: Nicht einmal einen Monat nach dem Einmarsch der Franzosen in Freiburg (21. April 1945) lud der Prälat Ernst Föhr, vor 1933 Reichstagsabgeordneter des Zentrums und dessen badischer Landesvorsitzender, einen Kreis Gleichgesinnter ein, um über die alsbaldige Gründung einer katholischen Zeitung zu beraten.
