Updated: 8:01 PM EDT May 18, 2021 WLKY Digital Team Louisville health officials have ann0unced when it will close the mass vaccination site at Cardinal Stadium.Watch coverage from when it opened in the player above.During a Tuesday meeting, health officials said the site will close on May 28. The site was only ever supposed to be open for seven weeks.Until then, the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine will be available by appointment or walk-in at the site.Recently, the site has seen a significant drop in vaccinations. While it has the capacity to see up to 4,000 people a day, they ve averaged around 250 to 350 daily. Officials say the small number of people showing up at times leaves unused vaccine at the end of the day. Since its opening in April, the site has administered over 50,000 vaccinations.
