CITY businesses and community groups will now be offered the opportunity to avail of a fleet of cargo bikes, thanks to funding from a public service innovation fund.
Cork City Council was one of 20 projects to receive funding from the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform who are seeking to increase the use of cargo bikes in the wider private and public sector. ....

Coastal day-trippers could have a long drive home this evening, with many of the main routes from popular beauty spots reported to be very busy.
Traffic is heavy on roads around Kinsale, while there are long delays on the N71 from Bandon to Innishannon.
Roads are also busy further west, with delays reported around Clonakilty.
Traffic in East Cork is also busy in places, with traffic on the N25 slow towards Midleton from Castlemartyr. ....

Fog is being reported in a number of parts of Cork today.
Motorists are being advised to use fog lights in affected areas, and to ensure to turn them off afterward.

Cork has experienced an impressive improvement in traffic congestion levels and has gone from being the world’s 75th most congested city in 2019 to its 100th in 2020.
This is according to the location technology specialist TomTom, who created a traffic index which details the traffic situation in 2020 in over 400 cities in 57 countries. ....
