(WBTV) - A law enforcement officer is recovering after being hurt in a shooting Saturday evening in Kings Mountain. Kings Mountain Police Officer Cpl Frank Lee Whittington Jr. underwent surgery and is expected to survive, according to police chief Lisa Proctor. Whittington has served with the police department for 13 years. âWe are thankful he is still alive,â said Proctor. âWe are thankful we are not planning the third funeral in more than a week for another law enforcement officer.â ....
