MeadowGrass organizers aim for a return to almost-normal

he first thing attendees at this yearâs MeadowGrass Music Festival should experience is a degree of familiarity after a year of pandemic. Nicole Nicoletta, executive director of festival sponsor Rocky Mountain Highway, said that dream came closer to fruition last month when the county eased restrictions on outdoor events.
Originally, festival organizers had envisioned all attendees restricted to 10-by-10-foot pods similar to those used at last yearâs MeadowGrass Vibes concert at UCHealth Park. Now, the large meadow at Black Forestâs La Foret Conference & Retreat Center will look much as it has for past MeadowGrass gatherings. ....

Students are turning an abandoned lot into a work of art

Thereâs no shortage of immaculate and meticulously curated art galleries here in Colorado Springs, but down on Royer Street â past a wastewater treatment plant, a cemetery and rows of warehouses â another kind of art space has been forming over the last two years.
Steve Wood, co-founder and director of Concrete Couch, a local nonprofit founded 18 years ago with a mission to create community art projects, describes Concrete Coyote as a kind of evolving art park, featuring everything from a giant metal hammer to a swing seat built out of old telephone poles.
