Exciting plans have been announced for events in Devizes this year. Devizes Outdoor Celebratory Arts s (DOCA) Street Festival will take place on August 30, with a focus on home-grown talent rather than international acts. Artistic Director Loz Samuels said :“We will take a new approach to Street Festival this year, we don’t know what the impact of Covid 19 will have on international travel and we also don’t know what additional costs would be incurred due to changes in the law that Brexit will create – it makes planning and budgeting much more complex so we are going to let things settle this year and look at international performance again in 2022. ....

Support is needed to ensure Devizes’s best loved events can make a return after the pandemic. The history of Devizes Outdoor Celebratory Arts (DOCA) is firmly rooted in the town’s rich history of community-led events. The charity hopes to bring Carnival to the streets of Devizes by July, but desperately need public support in doing so. DOCA have launched a fundraiser to ask supporters to donate the equivalent of a cup of coffee to help the organisation ride the storm of lockdown and, hopefully, make it to the other side of the pandemic. The much-loved Confetti Battle Artistic director Loz Samuels said: This has been such a hard time for everyone. We hope that when we can start to program events for Devizes again that people will be really ready to join in and socialise again. ....
The race is on to identify 75 mysterious photographs captured in Devizes Details, by Dave Buxton. The book celebrates the rich detail and character of the town of Devizes, and has been flying off the shelves in recent weeks. Devizes Details encourages people across the town to take a closer look at familiar streets, rooftops, windows and more. It has been created by Devizes Outdoor Celebratory Arts (DOCA) stalwart Dave Buxton, alongside Ida McConnell of Jakson McConnell. Proceeds from sales of the book will go to support DOCA’s future programme of events that have been much missed by the town, and wider Wiltshire community. ....
