The parade will be taking place at Khanapara Veterinary College playground, where Assam governor Jagdish Mukhi will be hoisting the tricolour. Kamrup Metropolitan’s joint director of health services, Ganesh Saikia, said mandatory Covid-19 testing was done among the troops from Assam Police, Veerangana, NCC cadets and from different paramilitary forces who will present at the function. “No positive case has been detected so far. Covid protocols will be enforced strictly and everyone has to wear masks and maintain social distancing norms,” Saikia added. ....

During the programme, movement of all heavy commercial goods carrying vehicles coming towards Guwahati through National Highways 31 and 37 will be regulated as and when necessary on the following places for the safety of the general public on the roads – (a) Khetri, Sonapur, Byrnihat and Jorabat (b) Jalukbari, Amingaon and Bongara (City border). ....
GUWAHATI: On Republic Day, the movement of all heavy commercial goods carrying vehicles coming towards Guwahati through National Highways 31 and 37 will be regulated as and when necessary at Khetri, Sonapur, Byrnihat, Jorabat, Jalukbari, Amingaon and Bongara. No other vehicle shall be allowed entry from the Research Gate point or Koinadhora point to Museum point. Image Source: IANS News Guwahati, Jan 26 : Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi on Tuesday said 229 government officials have been arrested on charges of corruption since 2016 as part of the move to make the state corruption free. Addressing the Republic Day s main function at College of Veterinary Science at Khanapara in Guwahati, the Governor said the government is taking steps for fulfilling the promise of a corruption-free Assam and has taken action against syndicates and illegal activities. He said various online and digital modes were introduced to provide diverse services and nearly all financial transactions to maintain transparency in the administration. ....
