Your view: Castle Barracks a 'cold house' for Nationalist identity

Castle Barracks a ‘cold house’ for Nationalist identity
Dear Sir,
Afford me please the space to respond to last week’s article on ‘the Tricolour’s raising at castle’.
It seems highly appropriate to write on this issue on this week which marks the creation of Northern Ireland arising from the partitioning of Ireland.

The article speculates widely as to the motive of the raising of the Tricolour but what is clear to all is that the overnight foray, in my opinion, has happened at the Enniskillen Castle Barracks site for a reason.  ....

However, a request to hold a minute’s silence was refused by the Chair Councillor Diana Armstrong who said it was: “Something I cannot permit.”
She began the April meeting by expressing sympathy to the Queen and Royal Family on behalf of council and advised an online Book of Condolence has been opened.
“Prince Philip was a monumentally supportive presence in the life of Her Majesty, their family and the people of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth. ....
