February 24, 2021LANCASTER There are two candidates seeking to fill the vacant Select Board seat in Lancaster. Both names should be familiar to all. Rob Christie and Troy Merner seek to have your vote on Town Meeting Day. The Coös County Democrat spoke with both candidates, who offered their thoughts and visions moving forward.
Resident Rob Christie explained why he decided to run, stating When I was a scout in Troop 219, I took the Order of the Arrow pledge to a Life of Cheerful Service. PAL Program returns to Lancaster

PAL Program returns to Lancaster
February 17, 2021LANCASTER After being in discussions for quite some time, the PAL Program (Police Athletic League) is back in town and better than ever. Teaming up to bring this important non-profit program back to the North Country youth, is the Lancaster Police Department, headed of course by Chief Tim Charbonneau and Kaze Dojo s Greg Williams.
Youth, ages six to 18 from any North Country town will be eligible to participate at no cost. Making the program possible was a $10,000 grant from GOFER (Governor s Office For Emergency Relief) in conjunction with the Boys and Girls Club and the Governor s Youth Advisory Council. To keep the program up and running however, more funding will be needed. Those funds can come in the form of sponsorships for a student or donations. More information on how to do this will be forthcoming, as details are ironed out. ....
