LIBERIA: ILO Conducts National Regional Consultation for Local Officials and Tripartite Partners – Global News Network


 
A National Regional Consultation for County Superintendents, District Commissioners, Tripartite Partners, Labour Congress, the Liberia Chambers of Commerce and key relevant sections of the Ministry of Labour, aimed at building awareness for the ratification of ILO Conventions has  commenced in the country.
The Consultation which is being held under the theme:
“Strengthening Institutional Capacities in Liberia for Ratification, Domestication and Reporting on International Labour Standards”, is implemented under the RBSA Project.
The event opened in Ganta City, Nimba County on July 12, 2021 and is expected to be hosted in four cities – Ganta, Gbarnga, Buchannan and Tubmanburg – over a period of ten days. ....

The statewide Franklin B. Walter All-Scholastic Award ceremony was held on April 27 in virtual format. The Ohio Educational Service Center Association sponsors the state awards.
The Southern Ohio Educational Service Center presented awards to the top students from each county in the region consisting of Adams, Clinton, Fayette and Highland counties.
The Franklin B. Walter All-Scholastic Award was established in 1989 by Ohio’s County Superintendents to recognize student achievement and promote academic accomplishment. One senior from each of Ohio’s eighty-eight counties receives this prestigious honor each year. Recipients are selected by virtue of their academic achievement, personal accomplishments, and community service. ....

Laney Carpenter recently won the Franklin B. Walter All-Scholastic Award for Guernsey County from the Ohio Educational Service Center Association.
The Cambridge High School senior is the daughter of Aaron and Audra Carpenter of Cambridge. She plans to attend Marietta College and study accounting.
The Franklin B. Walter All-Scholastic Award was established in 1989 by Ohio s County Superintendents to recognize student achievement and promote academic accomplishment. Only one senior from each of Ohio s eighty-eight counties is chosen to receive this honor each year. The recipients are the top scholars in their class. ....

FOURTH APPORTIONMENT FOR EVERY STUDENT SUCCEEDS ACT COMPREHENSIVE SUPPORT AND IMPROVEMENT LOCAL EDUCATIONAL AGENCY FISCAL YEAR 2019–20
This apportionment, in the amount of $6,133,741.35, is made from federal funds provided to the state under Title I, Part A, of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA), as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) (Public Law 114‒95). Section 1003 of the ESSA provides grants to local educational agencies (LEAs) to serve schools implementing comprehensive support and improvement (CSI) activities.
Only those LEAs that submitted the 2019–20 ESSA CSI LEA Application for Funding to the California Department of Education (CDE) and met fiscal reporting requirements for Report 2 are included in this apportionment.
