It seems that more and more often I find myself scratching my head wondering what is wrong with people these days.
Lately, there has been a string of alleged sex offenders in Highland County. If you read court documents detailing exactly what these people allegedly did to juvenile members of the community, it’s enough to make some people sick. Then we have the myriad issues that seem to be splitting our country in half, and way too many people who get offended if someone does do not see things in the same light they see them. ....

FRS Transportation hopes to have public transit routes back up and running in May, representatives said at Monday’s Hillsboro City Council meeting.
Damon Lucas, FRS Transportation director, said public transportation routes originated last March, but lasted just three weeks before they were shut down by COVID-19.
When the routes are re-established, Lucas said there will be two loops around Hillsboro running in opposite directions, Monday through Friday to begin with, and one loop in Greenfield. In Hillsboro, he said, there will be 21 stops starting at the Highland County Senior Citizen Center on Muntz Street. ....

A resolution was approved to authorize Hillsboro Auditor Alex Butler to “advance from unencumbered general funds” the amount of $200,000 for the agreed upon payment for infrastructure on the SR 73/Harry Sauner Road Marriott Hotel property during Monday’s Hillsboro City Council meeting.
The resolution withdrew prior authorization to use TIF funds for the project.
Safety and service director Brianne Abbott said that the legislation would allow the money promised to developers in 2019 to be disbursed, and that they had also signed a promissory note insuring that if the bonds didn’t sell in six months, the $200,000 would be repaid back to TIF funds. ....
