The newly built sewage treatment plant located in the upstream of Bellandur Lake has started receiving about 100 million litres per day ( MLD) of sewage from the Koramangala and Challaghatta valley, which was for the last four decades, polluting the storm water drain and the lakes. Wasa awaits soft loan for Rs14 bn sewerage project National April 20, 2021 LAHORE: The Punjab government on the request of Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) has asked the Economic Affairs Division for early processing of financial facility for the country’s first ever mega trenchless sewerage project worth Rs14 billion. Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has already committed a soft loan for laying a trenchless sewerage system from Larechs Colony to Gulshan-e-Ravi, Lahore. PC- I of the project was approved by ECNEC on 16 March, 2020 while pre-qualification of Project Management Consultant was completed in advance to save time. The board approval by AIIB was expected in September, 2020, loan signing with AIIB was expected in October, 2020 and the award of work was expected by end of December, 2020.
