CLAY COUNTY, MO (KCTV) Clay County is passing on millions of dollars in federal assistance to local residents who need rental assistance, county officials announced Friday morning. The Clay County Auditor s Office and Community Care Link developed the Emergency Rental Assistance Program to distribute $3.6 million to county tenants struggling with home rent.

Spencer, IA (KICD) Clay County Supervisors received the official audit from the fiscal year ending last June 30th this week.
Winter Stave and Company says the county brought in 34 million 210 thousand dollars in local taxes including 2 million 809 thousand dollars in tax credits from the state. 25 million 88 thousand was forwarded on to schools, cities, townships, and other taxing bodies; 9 million 122 thousand was retained by the county.
Expenses for county operations were 16 million 794 thousand dollars, 6.6 percent more than the previous twelve months.

MOORHEAD A judge on Monday, Dec. 14, dismissed with prejudice a lawsuit contesting the Nov. 3 election and the race for Minnesota House District 4A, stating in his ruling that negating pre-election rule suspensions that were made in light of the coronavirus pandemic would disenfranchise voters of Clay County.
Minnesota District Court Judge Timothy Churchwell also said in his order filed in Clay County District Court that because of substantive and procedural deficiencies the suit could not proceed on jurisdictional grounds.
The lawsuit was filed Nov. 30 by several contestants, including Edwin Hahn, a Republican from Moorhead who lost the race for the Minnesota House District 4A seat to Democrat Heather Keeler.

MOORHEAD A Minnesota District Court judge said Thursday, Dec. 10, he will issue a ruling by noon on Monday deciding whether a lawsuit should move forward involving the Nov. 3 election and the race for Minnesota House District 4A.
The suit was filed in Clay County District Court on Nov. 30 by several contestants, including Edwin Hahn, a Republican from Moorhead who lost the race for the Minnesota House District 4A seat to Democrat Heather Keeler.
Besides Keeler, other contestees in the suit include Clay County Auditor and Treasurer Lori Johnson and Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon.
