The Guilford County Department of Public Health is closing some COVID-19 testing sites in High Point. However, there are still other sites open conducting COVID-19 testing. Health leaders said the COVID-19 testing site located at 501 East Green Drive, High Point will close after Saturday. The site is closing because the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is not extending its contract with ETruenorth for testing in North Carolina. ....

One change would eliminate the existing bus service from Pleasure Island to the rest of the County and replacing it with an on demand Microtransit service. According to WAVE, In September 2020, a finalized proposal of a revised system network was presented to Wave Transit’s Board of Directors for review and consideration. On October 22, 2020, the revised network was approved as the framework for public transportation services offered by Wave Transit.
