Minister of Education, Youth and Information, Fayval Williams, has confirmed that 129 schools have been approved for face-to-face teaching and learning to start the new school term on January 4. The schools have been allowed a two week period from January 4 to 18 to fine-tune their preparations for schooling. Minister Williams said all students and teachers are expected to utilise one or a combination of the approved approaches, to ensure that the education of students continue despite COVID-19. ....
Fayval Williams In the face of the continuing impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, effective Monday, January 4, the start of the new school term, some 129 schools are to offer face-to-face teaching and learning, the Ministry of Education has said. The pilot initiative ended on December 18. The ministry, in a statement on Thursday, said the schools will be allowed a two-week period from January 4 to 18, to fine-tune their preparations for schooling. Education Minister, Fayval Williams, said the focus for this term is the preparation of students for exit exams this year. These exams include the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC), City and Guilds, CAPE, NCTVET and the Primary Exit Profile (PEP). ....
