Flower growers in Karnataka seek govt aid impacted by Covid

Shivamogga (Karnataka) [India], June 10 (ANI): The flower growers of Karnataka s Shivamogga urged the state government to provide financial support for unregistered farmers as their business have been impacted due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Srinivas, a flower grower in Holehonnuru told ANI that the compensation given by the state government does not reach small-scale farmers because they are not registered. Even the officers refuse to identify their crops due to the same reason, he said.
The state government announced the compensation but it does not reach the small-scale farmers since many of us have not registered our crops. The officers refuse to survey it as we have not registered, said Srinivas. ....

The word has spread. And people desperate for help as the pandemic spreads, particularly in the national capital and its suburbs, have been directly calling IYC members or tagging them and Srinivas on social media platforms.
