Bengaluru, Feb 16 : Former Jharkhand and Bihar Governor and noted jurist Justice Mandagadde Rama Jois, passed away on Tuesday due to age related ailments, sources close to Jois family told the media. He was 89.
Jois suffered a cardiac arrest, the sources added. He is survived by wife and two children.
Jois was a staunch Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) follower and one of the early proponents of the Ram Janmabhoomi movement in the country.
He was born July 27, 1931 and would have been 90 this year. He was a former member of Rajya Sabha and served as Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court. ....

In his condolence message, BJP President J P Nadda said Jois served selflessly for the nation and left his deep imprint on Judiciary, Executive and legislative fields.
He made a lasting contribution to Indian judiciary. His efforts in restoring democracy during the 1975 emergency will always be remembered, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said his book The Legal and Constitutional History of India is a treatise.
His Dharma: the Global Ethic is a classic.
A great mind, she said.
He was a legal luminary whose thoughts were reflected well in his books on law and constitution, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa said. He also said Jois was imprisoned during the Emergency in 1975-1977. ....

Bengaluru, Jan 28: MC Managuli, Janata Dal (Secular) MLA from Sindagi Assembly and former horticulture minister of Karnataka, has passed away at a hospital in Bengaluru on Thursday morning. He was 85.
Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa condoled the demise of Managuli.
In a condolence message in Kannada, he said: I am deeply saddened by the demise of JDS MLA from Sindagi constituency MC Managuli. The state has lost a senior leader. May his soul rest in peace.
Former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda too mourned the demise of JDS leader. MC Managuli has been my companion for years both politically and personally. The news of his demise is shocking. May God provide strength to his family and his soul rests in peace, he said. ....
