By Kirk Maltais Corn for March delivery fell 3.9% to $5.34 1/2 a bushel on the Chicago Board of Trade Wednesday as grains fell after Tuesday s WASDE report showed a smaller-than-expected cut to ending stocks. Soybeans for March delivery fell 3.4% to $13.54 a bushel. Wheat for March delivery fell 2.2% to $6.35 1/2 a bushel. HIGHLIGHTS Collecting Profits: Grain futures dropped Wednesday. Traders opted to take profits in reaction to a muted movement in stockpile figures from the government. The USDA numbers were nowhere near what trade has been assuming given the export sales reports recently and given the crop reports out of South America, so it looks like we are going to have a little readjustment period and then have to wait for the March report, said Tomm Pfitzenmaier of Summit Commodity Brokerage. ....

Premium Content The Oil Deal That Could Break Up Iraq By Simon Watkins - Feb 09, 2021, 8:00 AM CST Since the formation of the new system of governance in Iraq in 2003 immediately after the fall of Saddam Hussein there have been a slew of problems between the Federal Government of Iraq (FGI), centred in Baghdad, and the semi-autonomous Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI), governed in large part by its government (the KRG) based in Erbil. Back then in 2003/4 it was broadly agreed that the KRG would export a certain volume of oil from its own fields and Kirkuk via the FGI’s State Oil Marketing Organization (SOMO) and would absolutely not independently sell oil from the fields on the international markets. In return, the FGI from Baghdad would disburse a certain level of payments to the KRG from Iraq’s central budget. Early in their marriage, they had the unique opportunity to see some of the world as they lived in Kansas, Arkansas, and Taiwan. After his service in the military, Ken and his bride moved back to their hometown to start a family. They raised three wonderful children, Crystalle, Kevin and Elise.
