Rail crossing work set next week in Lima
LIMA Lima City Engineer Kirk Niemeyer reports that two CSXT Railroad crossings are slated for next week.
The Main Street crossing between Vine and Second streets will be closed starting Monday and continuing through Friday. Vine Street, St. Johns Avenue and Fourth Street will serve as the detour for truck .
Eureka Street between Central Avenue and Jackson Street will be closed starting Wednesday and continuing through June 2.

Lima council panel looks at sidewalk, curb replacements

LIMA Lima council’s Safety Services and Neighborhood Concerns committee met virtually Monday to continue its look at the city’s deteriorating curbs and sidewalks.
The meting was a follow-up to one held in February where members were concerned about cars parked on the tree lawn, in the Essex and Catalpa Street areas because of the lack of curbs.
During Monday’s meeting, Public Works Director Howard Elstro indicated that about 60% of the city could use new curbs. Elstro pointed out there are 165 miles of streets and 1,874 city blocks in Lima. ....
