WATERBURY – Jill P. (Iava) Perrone, age 60, passed away unexpectedly with her family by her side on Friday, April 16, 2021.
Jill was born on Oct. 26, 1960, in Waterbury, daughter of the late Frank Jr. and Ann Shirley (Richards) Iava. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School and held a bachelor’s degree in biology from Southern Connecticut State University.
She worked in the medical field for more than 35 years, most recently for Hartford HealthCare at the Hospital of Central Connecticut as the senior technologist of microbiology.
Creative in many ways, Jill enjoyed interior design and jewelry making. She loved to travel to Martha’s Vineyard with her friends and browse flea markets. She also enjoyed feeding and watching Poppy’s birds.

Alex Cote
THOMASTON – Mr. Leopold P. Cote, better known as Alex or Uncle Alex by those who loved him, passed away on Sunday evening, Feb. 28, 2021. He was the husband of Karen M. (Ackermann) Cote.
Alex was born June 13, 1939, in Quebec, Canada, son of the late Louis and Marie-Reine (Fortin) Cote. At age 13, he ran away from home to join the circus. Yes, it really did happen. Leaving the family farm, his parents and 12 brothers and sisters who he loved, and struck out to live the adventure he knew his life would be. At the first opportunity to become the star of the show, he was billed as the “Great Alexander.” The only man to hang himself and live.
GRAY - Joseph Maurice Cote, 86 of Gray, TN went to sleep in Jesus on February 26, 2021 at the home of his daughter.
Born on December 14, 1934 in Hartford, Connecticut, he was raised the first ten years of his life in an orphanage and then went to live with his father, sister and brothers. He lived in Harford, CT the first 34 years of his life. During that time, he did hotel management, worked as a firefighter and spent three years serving his country in the Army.
He married Leola when he was 32 years old. He had a passion for sharing Jesus with others and spent the rest of his career selling Christian books, giving Bible studies, preaching Godâs word and pastoring. Even after retirement, he continued sharing Jesus with others in many ways. He was a prayer warrior and prayed for hundreds of people daily. He was an amazing father and grandfather. He loved dogs and animals, weather, reading, star information, studying his Bible, sharing Jesus with others, and spending time with h
