(JDF) â For nearly 30 years, Joeten Daidai Foundation has been giving out scholarships to qualified candidates in its efforts to help enhance education for students from the CNMI.
On July 15, 2021, the foundation awarded $2,000 each to eight scholarship recipients for a total of $16,000 to assist students with their college funds.
This yearâs awardees are Maria Cruz of Kagman High School, Victoria C. Dela Cruz of Marianas High School, Stephanie T. Flores of Marianas High School, Davin Kim of Kagman High School, Samantha Liske-Clark of Saipan International School, Julie Quan of Grace Christian Academy, and Amy Soliman of Marianas High School.
Jason Tudela Sablan of Saipan International School is this yearâs Joeten affiliate/subsidiary scholarship recipient, which is granted to a child of an employee of one of Joetenâs subsidiaries or affiliate companies.

The Chattanooga-area was well represented on the Tennessee Sports Writers Association All-State Softball Team for 2021. Having 20 girls named to the team is a true testament to the quality of the sport in our area.
There were student-athletes from Chattanooga and its surrounding area honored in every classification with 10 of the 12 spots in Division II-AA going to the Scenic City. As Baylor head coach Kelli Smith remarked, “10 of the 12 spots held by Chattanooga girls illustrates how talented our city is with incredible softball players.”

Eleven-year-old Aliane Challenger of Grace Christian Academy has been named the top student for this year’s Grade Six National Assessment.

Eleven-year-old Aliane Challenger of Grace Christian Academy has been named the top student for this year’s Grade Six National Assessment.
Challenger migrated from Dominica following the passage of Hurricane Maria in 2017, and began attending Grace Christian Academy in Grade 3.
Since that time, she has always been at the top of her class.
However, despite her previous accolades, she was in fact “surprised and in disbelief” over being named the top student in Antigua and Barbuda with a score of 378, edging out 1,445 other students for the top position.
