COVID-19 restrictions have finally eased: Are Harrisburg bars full? See for yourself

It’s officially the start of the first full weekend operating under the newly loosened COVID-19 restrictions, which are the most relaxed rules in over a year.
The new rules ask that customers continue social distancing, mask use, and sanitation practices. But now customers are allowed to resume bar seating, alcohol service without purchase of a meal and they can linger at a bar with alcohol sales up until 2 a.m. Indoor dining levels also have been increased to 75 percent occupancy, from 50 percent.
Bars across Central Pa. were open and ready for the first big weekend in more than 12 months. Due to the colder temperatures Friday, many bars were not exactly flooded with customers. Still, some customers eagerly arrived, expressing their excitement for the eased restrictions.

There’s plenty to look forward to in spring 2021 and not just warmer weather.
Several restaurants are preparing to open in the Harrisburg area, giving pent-up diners an opportunity to grab a seat or takeout from a new spot.
While some of the restaurants’ plans were delayed by COVID-19, others have sprung up during the pandemic hiatus. Many are awaiting the all-clear as state restrictions loosen up and vaccination rates to climb before they officially host grand openings. The new restaurants are coming on board as the state has eased some restrictions on restaurants, allowing more diners, bar service and later hours for serving alcohol.
