Flapjack! Comedy Productions is set to return for a summer series of eight comedy shows in Falmouth.
The season will open on Thursday, May 27, with Dave Andrews headlining a dinner and show evening at The Coonamessett Inn.
âWe need comedy. Laughter is one thing that brings people together,â Flapjack! founder Preston Simpson said in a 2015 interview at the launch of the business. Early shows initially featured Mr. Simpson and his character-driven comedy and later expanded to feature top area performers from Boston and beyond. âThere are funnier people than me out there and Iâm excited about finding them,â he said in the same interview.

SOUTH YARMOUTH – Red Jacket Resorts is excited to announce the addition of two new members to its management team and the promotion of another veteran team leader.
Derek Vance has been named General Manager of Riviera Beach Resort in South Yarmouth and arrives on Cape Cod from Vermont with a strong background in hospitality management.
Some of Vance’s past leadership roles include a GM position at Holiday Inn Express, Assistant GM at the Hilton Garden Inn Providence Waterfront and Director of Guest Services & Kids Experience at Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg, Virginia.
The Falmouth Select Board unanimously accepted the donation on February 1.
âThat really is a legacy gift that will be here for generations,â chairwoman Megan E. English Braga said.
Board member Douglas C. Brown also offered thanks for the donation.
âWe will have to put an anonymous plaque up along the trail,â Mr. Brown said.
The board proclaimed February 9, 2021, as Samuel N. Johnson Day in Falmouth. Mr. Johnson, a 38-year resident of Falmouth, will celebrate his 100th birthday on Tuesday, February 9.
Mr. Johnson, a World War II veteran, served in the Navy V5 Program from 1942 through 1945 and worked with General Electric as an engineer. He married his wife, Betty, on May 5, 1945, and had six children and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
