HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating a plane crash off Lanai on Saturday night.
Officials said two men were seriously injured when the single-engine aircraft they were in crashed about eight miles off Lanai, apparently after experiencing engine trouble.
A Coast Guard helicopter crew rescued the men about an hour after the crash.
The victims were flown to Oahu, where they met by Emergency Medical Services crews. Authorities described their injuries as non-life-threatening and said they were treated and taken to an area hospital.

A pilot instructor and his student were rescued from choppy waters on Saturday after their aircraft went down in the ocean off the coast of Hawaii.
