The two were rescued by an Air Station Barbers Point MH-65 Dolphin helicopter aircrew within an hour after they crashed, the coast guard said, and brought them to emergency services at the air station. Their injuries were non-life-threatening, the coast guard told KHNL-TV.

Officials said two men were seriously injured when the single-engine aircraft they were in crashed about eight miles off Lanai, apparently after experiencing engine trouble. A Coast Guard helicopter crew rescued the men about an hour after the crash. The victims were flown to Oahu, where they met by Emergency Medical Services crews. Authorities described their injuries as non-life-threatening and said they were treated and taken to an area hospital.
