TFWA expands representation with trade groups

The Tax Free World Association (TFWA) is looking to broaden its representation with affiliate trade associations to share the diversity and expertise of its board members.

Following the recent appointment of Jaya Singh as president, TFWA hopes to create a ‘more co-ordinated’ approach to its relationships with other associations and establish a stronger common purpose throughout the travel industry.
As such, Singh will represent TFWA on the Duty Free World Council board; TFWA vice president finance Frédéric Garcia-Pelayo will represent TFWA on the MEADFA board; TFWA vice president commercial Donatienne de Fontaines-Guillaume will represent TFWA on the ETRC board; and TFWA vice president corporate Sam Gerber will represent TFWA on the APTRA board. ....

Tax Free World Association (TFWA) has announced that it intends to widen its representation within affiliated trade associations.
The move, which follows the
recent electionof new President Jaya Singh, is designed to offer greater diversity of knowledge and insight.

Latest DFWC webinar to deliver air traffic and regional DF&TR update

The Duty Free World Council (DFWC) will host a webinar in early February to update on the current state of the industry.
Due to take place on Wednesday 3 February (
14:00 – 15:30 CET), the webinar entitled ‘2021 – The Year of Recovery?’ will communicate vital air traffic data courtesy of ACI World and outline recent measures taken by the Council, TFWA and regional associations.
A keynote address from ACI World Director Economics Patrick Lucas will follow an introduction by DFWC President Sarah Branquinho.
Presidents from the other associations will also present reports from their respective regions, with additional briefings on efforts being undertaken to ensure the importance of DF&TR to the broader travel and tourism, aviation and maritime ecosystems. ....

Experienced industry executive Jaya Singh has been elected as the new President of Tax Free World Association (TFWA) on a one-year term.
The former APTRA President and current Managing Director of Mondelez World Travel Retail, European Export & Switzerland was elected today following a TFWA Management Committee vote.
Singh fended off competition from incumbent President Alain Maingreaud, who was running for a third term, and other challenger Melvin Broekaart.
TRBusiness was aware through conversations with industry sources in the lead-up to the election that Singh – confirmed to this publication as a runner for the presidency alongside Broekaart – was a strong contender for the post given his critical experience in DF&TR working on behalf of several associations. ....
