Cheering up your community is simple when you ve got the spirit, drive and perfect plan for it – as proven by one popular shop. Being well-known throughout Pooley Bridge for their colourful characters, Andrew and Emma Kaye, owners of Chestnut House, took it upon themselves to spread some festive cheer. And what better way is there to raise spirits than with an Open All Hours-inspired photoshoot? Emulating the award winning comedy s beloved characters, the positive-thinking pair got their team involved, with Andrew and staff member Darren Todd stepping into the roles of Granville and Arkwright. Andrew said: “During the lockdowns we felt it was important to make sure we stayed open all hours to serve the local community as best we could – Pooley’s equivalent of Arkwright’s Corner Shop. ....
AN entertainment venue is to welcome the audience to the first night of its Beauty and the Beast panto. This year’s The Sands Centre production is a specially designed 75 minute, socially distanced, rib-tickling festive treat for all the family, with a reduced capacity and no interval to minimise crowding. Starring in the panto is Britain’s Got Talent Winner and Collabro star Matt Pagan as the Prince/beast, CFM Radio’s Robbie Dee as Mrs Potts and impressionist Andrew Fleming as Silly Billy. Collabro’s Matt Pagan said: “What a Christmas it has been, heading back to Carlisle for an extra special pantomime. I feel so lucky to actually be able to step foot on a real life stage, with a real life audience this year and bring some of that panto magic to my hometown.” ....
